Phoenix Anti-Racist-Work

Phoenix e.V. is an organisation that promotes a culture of understanding. The organisation has been conducting anti-racism and empowerment trainings in Germany since the late 1980s. The Phoenix training programs were developed by Austen Peter Brandt, a Black German Reverend based in Duisburg. He had previously been trained in anti-racism pedagogy in London by Sybil Phoenix, a Black British woman from Guyana. She was awarded an MBE for her work. Phoenix e.V. is named after her.
